Buying in an estate.

Questions worth asking before you make an offer.

Start with the way you live

Think about the layout, outdoor space, parking, privacy and access you need. Visit the home and neighbourhood yourself, and ask practical questions about everyday life.

Understand the shared costs

Request the latest levy statement and ask about special levies, reserve funds, estate charges and municipal accounts. An advertised levy may not represent every monthly or once-off expense.

Read the rules early

Ask for the current estate or body corporate rules, including pet policies, building guidelines, alterations, rentals and visitor access. Clarify any approvals you may need.

Check the documents

Request the mandatory disclosure document, title deed information and relevant plans or approvals. Have the sale agreement and any concerns reviewed by the appropriate qualified professional before you commit.

General information only. Confirm current requirements with your conveyancer and the relevant estate or body corporate.
